EcLiPsE!

I'm not so afraid to admit that I am one of those people that go to midnight showings of the Twilight series! They are a lot of fun and I always go with my sisters, Jessie, and her sisters! It's like tradition! We started off the evening at Wingers with dessert!

My sisters and I don't usually get all dressed up or anything, (well this year Jodi got a shirt) but we decided to all paint our nails the Twilight colors, Red, Black and White. (And silver toes)

Yeah, we found ways to entertain ourselves. There were lots of drawings and a trivia but I didn't win a dang thing! Rip off!

The movie was soooo good! I was on the edge of my seat it got so intense! I would definitely recommend it to everyone!

Just Call Me Anecia Gleed, ABOC

Let me take you back a few months to when I first started the class. Connie, an optical whiz, was going to offer a class to all those who were taking the ABO, and wanted the little bit of help it would take to pass the test. I tell ya, I couldn't have done it without her! She was so helpful and so willing to help. So, I took this class very seriously. I mean, this test costs $150 to take! What if I fail!? That's $150 down the drain! So I studied every chance I got. I wrote detailed notes (even colored them with highlighters), I read my chapters, I did the worksheets she gave me, I mean I felt ready! So May 15 rolls around and we head down to Salt Lake. I had to be to the test at 9 am and I wanted to be rested so I thought it would be a good idea to stay the night in Salt Lake City, find the test spot ahead of time, and be prepared. And I'm glad we did! We had a great time. After not getting much sleep, I woke up at about 5 am. My stomach was in knots! I thought I was going to vomit! Lucky for me I have a mom who is usually up early and I text her and was able to talk to her for a minute which helped a lot. I tried to get a little more sleep but only got about 15 minutes or so. So, I decided I should try to eat something. Maybe I was just hungry? I went to the hotel breakfast in the lobby and got some fruit and a bagel. I ate half of the bagel, took one bite of apple and ate a little bit of banana. Still felt like vomiting! The nerves really got to me. I couldn't sit still, I couldn't eat, I felt sick, I mean it was horrible! I left for the test at 8 am. I know way early because it was maybe a 15 minute drive. However I was not the only one there that early which was nice. I went in at about 8:30-8:45 ish with my pencils, eraser, and sign in sheet. I was ready to get it over with! Once we got in there she had to check everyone in, assign them a seat, hand out the tests, and read the instructions. We didn't really get started on the actual test until about 10. I finished in about an hour and half. Maybe a little less I can't remember for sure, but I felt so much better. I felt confident I had at least passed. And it was the best feeling in the world for it to be over! Now the waiting game...test results don't come back for 6-8 weeks! I thought it would fly by but really it was so slow waiting for the results. I was so nervous I just wanted to know already. Luckily my results came on week 6!

Drum roll please.............................................................................

I PASSED!!!

When I saw the letter on the kitchen table my heart sunk. I snuck into my bedroom when Michael was in the front room and Tony downstairs, I took a deep breath and I opened the letter. Alone. In private. Whew. What a relief to see the word Congratulations. I went in and I told Michael, then I called my mom, Amber, Connie and my grandparents. It felt so good to know my hard work paid off!

Now I will be promoted to a level 3 Optician in ShopKo, get a raise, get reimbursed for some of the cost of the test, and now can start learning what it would take to be a manager someday.

ADVENTURE!

So I'm going to make what could be a long story short...I didn't want to go home because you-know-who was sitting on my porch with a few people I have never even seen before. I didn't want to go home. Soooo I tagged along with Jessie all day while she was doing pictures for someone. To kill the time we still had she decided to take pics of me! We went to a few of her favorite spots, ones that she had heard of and, we also went on a hunt for new pic spots. First of all here a few of my faves of me!
This was at the poppies in Mantua. Which fit because I'm obsessed with the Wizard of Oz and these make me think of it!
This is my serious face...I warned her I don't do good serious.
Climbing on this building was an adventure in itself. See right below me about 2 feet is a drop off! It was like a balance beam gettin up there but it was fun!
No real story behind this one...
This one is my absolute fave! I don't know why but I love it. We found this random set of stairs that lead to absolutely nowhere!
Ok I SWEAR I took a pic of them from the bottom looking up but I guess not. Anyways here's the random stairs!

Now this next one I am obsessed with. I love it! It's so random!
That's right...a random Aladdin looking rug on a hill. Amazing right. I wonder how it came to be there!?

That's all I got!

10 things I love about...

MY DAD!

1- He has such a faith and belief in the church and I admire him for that.
2- He is extremely Christlike. I never felt judged or rejected by him.
3- I love his quiet sense of humor. His jokes are always hilarious and out of nowhere.
4- He is extremely humble.
5- He is super smart and was always willing to help me with my homework.
6- He is honest with me. Tells me things I may not want to hear but in a way that makes me feel loved, and that he is looking for me.
7- Some of my favorite childhood memories are of him reading to us and telling us stories. His voice is great for that.
8- He is great with kids. Seeing him play with my 2 year old cousin on new years almost made me want to give him a grandkid. Almost.
9- He is outdoorsy. Another favorite memory is when he took me repelling in Moab.
10- He has such a big heart. Puts others before himself. I get that from him.

Happy Father's Day Dad! Love you!

Update

Here's an update on my last post about all of my goals....

I got a gym membership to Physiques and so far have been every day since except for once and that was yesterday. I am not going today but that is because on Tuesday nights I do Zumba over at the Peak. Funnest Fitness ever!

I think part of going to the gym and getting some exercise is helping me feel better. I feel like I am not just sitting at home doing nothing all day, I feel better about myself, and I am feeling a little bit more positive =] !

The truck is getting fixed tomorrow and the good news is it's only cosing us about $350. The original estimate was over $2,000! Luckily they took an even closer look and realized it wasn't going to be THAT much. Phew! That would have killed us on trying to save up!

Becuase the truck wasn't what we were expecting I think I am going to make the hanging swing a priority. I had an awesome friend help me out with that problem now I know where to get one and how much it will cost. So hopefully soon, you will see a pretty hanging swing on my porch! Hopefully.

Of course our trip is not taken care of yet...but we knew that was going to take all summer to save up. We did pay our deposit which locked our flight. We leave October 23rd and fly straight to Mexico. When we come home on the 28th we will have one stop in L.A. I'm getting super excited! I do have a new swimsuit, and a new beach outfit! So far...hehe!

Now for our front yard...
We started digging up all of the weeds but didn't want to spend money on a tiller so we did it all by hand. Well, shovel. Well...half of the yard. It was a long day and I got super sun burnt so we decided to try it differently for the other half. We are going to try and kill the weeds with round up first and then my boss lucky for us owns a tiller! She is going to be so kind as to let us borrow it one of these days that we have the time. Then we will till up the other half of the yard and plant seed on the whole yard! Yay! I do have some roses growing surprisingly...and I did nothing for them. They just started blooming like crazy probably because of all the rain we've had. Anyways I have 3 bushes, pink, white and yellow/pink. (that one's my favorite) and I even took a few pics for ya!

Yes, they are kind of wilting a bit I should have taken some pictures earlier when they were just starting to bloom. But oh well better late than never right?

That's all for now but I hope to be posting again soon with some more goal updates such as the kitchen!

Summer Goals

I think it's time for a little change. I know it's a little late for New Year's Resolutions so I'm writing down my summer goals. That way, I can come back and look at them later and see what kind of progress I have made.

PERSONAL

* Get my butt in shape! Work out at least 3 times a week. Lose a few pounds. Tone Tone Tone.
* Write in my journal more than I already do. I want to remember the little things.
* Have a more positive attitude. I have been feeling down lately and I need to find a way to fix it.

HOME

* Paint the kitchen. Find or make a magnet board. Curtains for the window.
* Get the front yard looking presentable.
* Try to figure out what to do with that monsterous bush in the corner of our yard. Even if it means naming it and having it as a pet. I'm pretty sure it eats things.
* Get the game room presentable. I know Michael really wants that all finished and I would like to try and get that done for him. Paint the walls and stuff hung on the walls.
* I have always wanted a hanging porch swing. No idea how to go about getting one, where to look or what to buy...so I would like to at least look into even though it can't be a priority right now.

MISC.

* Get the truck fixed.
* Get the dogs fixed
* Have the trip taken care of so we don't have to worry about it.

P.S Did I mention we are going to MEXICO in October!? Jess and Tiff are getting married on the beach and Michael is the best man! Wouldn't miss it!
