5 Pet Peeves

{1} Blinkers

That's right. I'm one of those people. One of the ones that HATE when people don't use a blinker! I mean C'MON! It's not that hard to flip it on! And it's so dangerous not to! I just hate that! So, you've been warned, if I ever catch you not using a blinker, I'll say something. And if you are in the car in front of me or around me and you don't use it, you'll be glad you can't hear me.

{2} Turning Lane

There is a reason they made a turning lane! So that you can get in it when you are turning so the cars behind you can just keep on driving. I HATE when people turn from the regular lane and don't use the turning lane at all.That is unacceptable! OR when people slow way way down in the regular lane then at the last second right before I've slammed into them, they swerve into the turning lane. UGH! Just use the dang turning lane! It's safer for everyone!

{3} Glasses Adjustments

I have been adjusting glasses for...6 years now. (Ew that makes me sound old...) Anyways, and my biggest pet peeve is when someone comes in to pick up glasses or to have them adjusted and they don't keep their hands off! For example someone continually pulling them down their nose saying, "They're too loose!" Well DUH! If you pull them down like that constantly, they're gonna come down. How bout you try putting them on and not touching them! I'll look and see where they need to be tightened from there. After I do my adjusting, if they still feel loose, without you pulling on them, then I will keep tightening. Thanks.

Also: When people tell me how to adjust. Like I said I have been doing this for 6 years. There are still things that are difficult and that I struggle with, or that takes me a little longer than I'd like, but I do know what I am doing. So don't tell me how to do it! I've had people literally say things like, "You need to bring the nose pieces in and bend the temples slightly so they are more snug." Well no kidding I was going to do that if you would have given me a chance. Ugh how annoying!

{4} People Calling Me Short

I HATE HATE HATE when people look at me and go, "Wow you're short." I could scream. That is so rude to me. I don't look at you sir and say, "Wow you're bald." Or, "Wow you're fat." I mean come on! It's so rude to point that out in my opinion because my height has always been something that makes me really self conscious so for you to point it out just makes me feel awful. There was nothing as bad as the time I was doing adjustments on a teenage boy (probably 14-ish) and when I stood up to hand him his glasses and look at them to adjust them, he started laughing. He seriously didn't stop. It was pretty obvious he was laughing that I was on my tippy toes to look behind his ears to do the adjusting. I seriously wanted to cry after that. It's so rude. 

{5} Toilet Paper Roll

When I was living at home I used to hate it when people used the last of the toilet paper and didn't put a new roll back on. It would drive me nuts! I made sure Michael knew that when we moved in together and he has been great. He always makes sure to change it if he is the last one. So really this isn't as bad of a pet peeve as it used to be thank goodness. Oh but I have another one to add...Dirty Laundry. I hate when Michael puts his dirty laundry on the floor right next to the laundry basket. Seriously! I couldn't make this up! He just takes them off and puts them right next to the basket. It would have taken one second longer to put them in the basket. But it's ok he doesn't do it often so it's not too bad.
