FIRST THANKSGIVING

In honor of my 2014 goals and trying to keep the blog up to date, here are some moments from Z's very first Thanksgiving!
Unfortunately Michael had to work so I went down to my grandma's house with my family.

Here are some snapshots from the day!

The long drive to my Grandma's.
It was so nice to have someone
else drive and just sit by my
baby the whole way!

We took a minute before dinner to go
see the Payson temple. It was a
gorgeous day and such a gorgeous
temple.

Of course she napped

And this would be her "who
woke me up?!" face

Trying to get a good pic
of her outfit.

I just love this picture of Z and my grandma!

Playing patty cake with aunt Joi Lyn!

And of course we had to stop by to see Grandpa and put
a fall wreath out.
Hope everyone had a fun and safe Thanksgiving!

2014 GOALS

In honor of the New Year and starting new, I'm going to make some goals for 2014!
Writing them down definitely seems to help and this year I am going to start off small and hopefully increase/add to my goals a little at a time. Here is what I have so far.

1- My body. Continue to go to the gym 2-4 times a week. Eat healthier including limiting my sweets/soda intake. (Notice I didn't say cut it out completely! I want REALISTIC goals here.)  Cook healthier meals and buy healthier snacks. I would like to go down in weight I see on the scale and up in weight I lift. (Seems pretty vague right now but hopefully after a month or so of working out I can give actual numbers for my goal weights.) I would also like to run a 5k before the year is up.

2- My home. I am having a hard time finding balance between keeping a tidy house, working full time, and taking care of little Z. I want to do a few little chores each night after work including cooking Michael dinner and cleaning up the mess afterwards. I want to do some deeper cleanings on Saturday mornings such as cleaning the bathrooms, mopping and vacuuming. All while still having SO much fun playing with Z and watching her grow and learn. I think that updating the blog at least once a month can fall under this category as well.

3- My finances. I would like to save more money. I would like to have all of our medical bills from Z's arrival paid off. This ties in a little with #1, eating out less.

Those are my goals as of right now. Hopefully in a month or so I can add to them and increase them.

Happy 2014 everybody!

FOUR GENERATIONS

I am pretty lucky to still have both of my grandparents on my dad's side around and my grandma on my mom's side around.

I hope they are around long enough for Z to remember them a little bit.

Z's Growth

Everyone always says it goes by so fast but I am watching time fly right before my eyes and there is nothing I can do to slow it down!
Z was so tiny when she was born and I felt like she'd be tiny forever! (A mom can dream right?!)
I have been documenting her progress and thought I'd share how much she has grown so far!

Taken at 2 weeks

Taken at Two Months
Taken at Three Months
(didn't realize I had put her in almost the same outfit!
oopsie!)

FIRST HALLOWEEN!

Hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween! Zianna's first Halloween was a lot of fun! I'm not usually a Halloween fan but with her, it was fun again! Even with her being so little!

Poor girl had to put up with me changing her outfit 3 times so that I could fit all of her cute Halloween outfits into one day!

First we started off by sleeping in Halloween skeleton jammies!
She looks so cute in them!

Then when Michael got her dressed for the day, he put her in her Halloween outfit! I made that bow the night before and she HATED it! But she let me put it on her long enough for a few pictures!

Then after work I put her in her costume! This is what it was supposed to look like but she wasn't digging the hat so we went to plan B which was just the hood of her jacket!
Normally she doesn't mind things on her head but of course this would be the day that she decides she doesn't!

Then I met up with my friend Cristina and her kids and went to our very first trunk-or-treat! Zianna loved going on a walk and seeing all the people dressed up so fun!

After that, we went to Cristina's neighborhood. We went to her next door neighbor who was giving out donuts and apple juice! Then we went to my friend Amber's house! Amber goes ALL OUT for Halloween so of course we wanted to go there! Zianna was asleep by this time but it was still fun to show her off a little!

By this time it has gotten cold and even sprinkled a little so we decided to call it a night and I took her to my parent's house so they could see her in her costume! I did take her to one house in my parent's neighborhood while we were there too!

P.S when do you think she will be too old to match costumes
with her mom?! I've already got ideas for next year!
All in all, Zianna's first Halloween was a success! She enjoyed walking around, and I enjoyed getting the candy! We were a little bummed Michael had to work but can't wait till she is older and we can go around as a family and she can actually say,
"Trick-or-Treat!"

I think this is our first picture of us where she is actually SMILING too! I am one happy, lucky mama!

  HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

3 MONTHS

I cannot believe 3 months has flown by so quickly! Zianna is getting so big, so strong and pretty smart.

She has been much happier lately, lots of smiles especially when she first wakes up. She is eating A LOT. She has been sleeping through the night lately and *knock on wood* I hope it continues! She is talking more and is still such a daddy's girl. She has to be sitting up or even standing, and will lean into everything. She doesn't quite grab for things but she'll lean into them as if reaching with her head. Over the last few days she has even given kisses! Kisses meaning open mouth, tongue out and lots of smiles after because she thinks it's funny! We still don't know what color to call her eyes because sometimes they look dark dark blue and other times they just look brown! She loves to suck on her hands. We'll take her hands out of her mouth and stick her bink in, she'll spit the bink out and go to town on her hands again.

We are loving her more and more each day and cannot wait for what the future holds with this little one and her silly personality!

Lately she loves to put her hands in her mouth.
She loves to stick her tongue out.
This captures both!
She enjoys tummy time and likes to roll from belly to back.
The last couple of days she has slept through the night!
I'm talkin 11 and 12 hours at a time!
We enjoyed going a walk the other day and if the weather holds up we'll go on more!

From Pinterest, With Love: A HEALTHY Recipe

Wanting to get back in shape after having a baby is one of my top goals. I am not quite to my pre-pregnancy weight but I am working hard on it!

The hardest part for me, is eating better. I try to eat smaller portions and less junk such as candy and soda, but man it's hard! I would MUCH rather have a Mt. Dew than water any day!

BUT I am trying!

Here is one thing I found on Pinterest that is healthy and gives you energy! Great for breakfast snacks or pre-workout snacks!

(click for recipe)

I didn't put coconut in mine or chocolate chips because I didn't have any. I was also out of honey so I went with the maple syrup but next time I make these I will definitely add the chocolate chips and swap syrup out for honey!

Make these!
And ENJOY!
